New sole plates, scarfed frames and new window frames ready to receive the replacement windows.

…..after. The brick plinth and sole plate has been raised by 300mm – this should help fix and avoid the rot that plagued this side of the cottage. 
New cill frames have been carefully inserted where necessary. 
No nails or screws, just tight mortise and tenons, oak dowels and traditional pegs. It’s all rock solid now.
